Resources
Several organizations globally and across India are working diligently to prevent the spread, to care for those already infected, and to mobilize resources to overcome HIV/AIDS.

They include:

• Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation – HIV/AIDS Programming http://www.gatesfoundation.org/GlobalHealth/Pri_Diseases/HIVAIDS/default.htm
• Avahan is the Gates Foundation India initiative. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed $200 million to prevent the spread of HIV in India, through its India AIDS initiative, Avahan, launched in April 2003. Avahan in Sanskrit is a “call to action”.
