Exciting news about new leadership at AIF
Dear Friends of AIF:
We are excited and delighted to announce that Dr. Sanjay Sinho will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer of AIF, effective April 1, 2008. Sanjay currently serves as the Director of the Health Unit with Care, USA in Atlanta, Georgia.
A pediatrician and a sociologist by background he has over 24 years of experience managing international health programs: this includes over 20 years at CARE, 12 years of which were spent directing health programs in India. He currently runs a portfolio of over 250 projects in 50 countries. He also has significant fund raising experience from major foundations like Gates and Ford and with government agencies like USAID and CDC. He has also represented Care within the UN and national ministries.
We have been privileged to have been at the leading edge of diaspora philanthropy and believe that AIF is well positioned for extraordinary growth. Our India team under Shankar Venkateswaran’s leadership has helped AIF forge new boundaries in development and created some robust program areas to serve marginalized families. Our US team has brought business discipline, leverage and efficacy to our work and together we have built an organization that has garnered the respect of peer organizations. So many of you have supported us with your resources, financial, time and otherwise and none of AIF’s accomplishments would have been possible without it. For this we are deeply grateful.
Victor, Rajat, Kash and I remain committed in our Board roles to help Sanjay and his team take AIF to new heights.
Warm Regards,
Lata & Kash
