Over one million dollars raised this year towards the Digital Equalizer program's impending expansion plans!

May 4, 2007

This has been a phenomenal year for the Digital Equalizer program.  An impressive line-up of corporations and individuals have committed to supporting DE’s expansion over the next three years.  AIF and the DE program team would like to thank the following supporters for their commitments that will maximize our collective impact as we bring technology to those communities who can benefit from it greatly.

Applied Materials Inc., Silicon Valley Bank, the Deshpande Foundation and MPhasiS Limited have committed to support DE’s large-scale partnership with the Government of Karnataka and bring DE to 216 schools across the state in 2007.

The New York Life Foundation will sponsor large-scale expansion in Punjab and Rajasthan.  DE centers were launched in 200 schools across Punjab in 2006, and this year DE will rollout in an additional 400+ schools. To date, the DE program in Rajasthan has brought technology and training to 206 schools across the state.

HSBC has signed on as a sponsor for our large-scale partnership with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, which will bring DE to 60 schools across the state.

A DE center has just launched in Gurgaon thanks to the support of Convergys Corporation.

We also welcome Nilita and Vivek Paul and Kaval Kaur and Jasvir Gill to our family of Trustees! The Pauls have committed resources towards our large-scale partnerships across India and for full-service centers in Bangalore and Delhi.

Kaval Kaur and Jasvir Gill have pledged their support to our large-scale expansion in Punjab.
