Deprived Urban Children (DUC)
Plans in 2006
In 2006, AIF grants program will focus on increasing its learnings on the issue of urban deprived children.
Up to 2 grants will be made covering the following:
- Special categories of deprived urban children like street children, pavement dwellers, rag pickers, etc.
- Balancing between metros, cities and towns, to gain experience of the differing contexts.
- Working in educationally backward states UP, Bihar / Jharkhand, MP, Orissa will be the priority.
- With our current partners, we will work towards building better understanding on community organization and quality issues.
- We may support workshops organized on this issue by other agencies
