Access To Education - Urban Children
Samya: Delhi (2006) for one year ($ 86,346)
This year, we plan to start our intervention for 5,000 street children in Delhi. Samya will implement the program through an AIF MOU that has been formally signed with Yusuf Meherally Centre. One of the broader objectives of the program is to ensure that the vulnerable urban street children and adolescents are exposed to mainstream and holistic education, and associated with this, other necessary enabling elements such as adequate nutrition, physical and mental health, healthy recreation, and shelter wherever needed. This is a holistic program catering to the education, health, nutritional and even the shelter needs of the children. One of the main features in the implementation of the program is the intensive involvement of college and university volunteers.
